Erik ten Hag, born on February 2, 1970, is a Dutch professional football manager and former player currently serving as the manager of Premier League club Manchester United.

Ten Hag’s playing career primarily saw him as a centre-back. He commenced his journey with Eredivisie outfit Twente and later moved to De Graafschap in 1990, clinching the Eerste Divisie title in his debut season. Returning to Twente in 1992, he briefly joined RKC Waalwijk before settling at Utrecht in 1995. A third stint at Twente followed in 1996, culminating in winning the KNVB Cup in 2001. He retired from playing in 2002 at the age of 32.

Transitioning to management, Ten Hag embarked on his coaching career in 2012 with Go Ahead Eagles, leading them to promotion to the Eredivisie in his first season. He then took charge of Bayern Munich II in 2013, guiding them to promotion to the Regionalliga Bayern in 2014. Returning to the Netherlands in 2015, he assumed the roles of sporting director and head coach at Utrecht. In 2017, he joined Ajax, where he amassed three Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cups, and propelled the team to the semi-finals of the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League. In 2022, Ten Hag took the helm at Manchester United as manager.
